Neoadjuvant chemotherapy with anthracyclines, taxanes, and anti-HER2 agents results in complete tumor response at the time of surgery in 30% to 40% of patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive or triple-negative (estrogen– and progesterone–receptor negative, and no overexpression of HER2) breast cancer.
