Hepatocellular Cancer Outcomes

(00:01:35) Elsevier Global Medical News, 2009 Jan 17, R Finn

Dr. Vanita Ahuja is currently affiliated with Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore.

Survival of patients treated for hepatocellular carcinoma in the United States is better among those who were not born in this country than among those who were born here, according to a large epidemiologic study presented at the 2009 Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium. This survival difference was particularly evident in non–US-born vs US-born Asians, said Dr. Vanita Ahuja, who conducted the study while at the John Wayne Cancer Institute, Santa Monica, California.
