Dr. Maria-Victoria Mateos is from the Hospital Universitario de Salamanca in Spain.

Melphalan showed itself to be a better partner than thalidomide for induction with bortezomib for the treatment of elderly patients with multiple myeloma in a randomized phase III trial reported by lead investigator Dr. Mateos in the plenary session at ASH 2009.
