(00:00:51) Elsevier Global Medical News, 2008 Sept 1, D McNamara

Dr. Jennifer Chennat is an interventional gastroenterologist at the Center for Endoscopic Research and Therapeutics, University of Chicago Medical Center.

This video, courtesy of Dr. Chennat, demonstrates the removal of Barrett’s esophagus via endoscopic mucosal resection. A retrospective study conducted by Dr. Chennat and colleagues, and presented at the annual meeting of the American College of Gastroenterology, found endoscopic resection to be a safe and effective alternative to esophagectomy for some patients with Barrett's esophagus.
